Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before authorising any work. By accepting a repair estimate or instructing Piston Pros to carry out work on your vehicle, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1

Estimates & Quotations

All estimates are based on the information available following an initial inspection and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Estimates are provided in good faith and are not fixed quotations unless expressly stated.

Due to the nature of mechanical repairs and engine rebuilding, additional faults or damaged components may only become apparent after dismantling.

Where additional work is identified, Piston Pros will seek your approval before proceeding unless you have authorised an agreed additional spending limit, or immediate action is required to prevent further damage or ensure vehicle safety.

2

Diagnostics

Diagnostic inspections are chargeable regardless of whether repairs proceed.

Diagnostic time includes fault investigation, electronic diagnostics, dismantling where necessary, testing and reporting.

A successful diagnosis does not guarantee that only one fault exists.

3

Engine Rebuilds & Major Mechanical Repairs

Engine rebuilding is a specialist engineering process involving complete or partial dismantling of the engine.

Hidden defects may only become apparent once components have been dismantled, cleaned and inspected. Examples include cracked cylinder heads, damaged crankshafts, worn cylinder bores, failed bearings, damaged pistons, damaged connecting rods, oil pump wear, turbocharger defects, timing component wear and previous poor-quality repairs.

Should additional defects be identified, we will provide a revised recommendation and estimate before continuing wherever reasonably practicable.

4

Replacement Parts

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, only new OEM or high-quality aftermarket parts will be fitted, and specialist performance components will be discussed before installation.

Piston Pros accepts no responsibility for the quality, compatibility or suitability of customer-supplied parts. Labour remains chargeable if supplied parts fail. Workmanship warranty applies only to installation. No warranty is provided on customer-supplied parts.

5

Performance & Modified Vehicles

Vehicles used for motorsport, track days, drifting, racing, competition or high-performance tuning may require specialist maintenance.

Performance modifications may reduce component life, invalidate manufacturer warranties and increase servicing requirements. Customers accept these risks when authorising such work.

6

Running-In Procedure (Engine Rebuilds)

Where an engine has been rebuilt, customers agree to follow the supplied running-in guidance.

Unless otherwise advised: avoid excessive engine speed or load during the running-in period; regularly monitor oil and coolant levels; report any warning lights or abnormal noises immediately; return the vehicle for the recommended running-in inspection and oil service.

Failure to follow the running-in procedure may invalidate the workmanship warranty.

7

Warranty

Unless otherwise stated in writing, workmanship is warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Parts are covered by the relevant manufacturer's warranty.

Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accident damage, misuse or abuse, overheating, oil starvation, lack of maintenance, contaminated fuel, modified ECU calibration following repair, racing or competition use, or failure to follow running-in instructions.

Warranty claims must be inspected by Piston Pros before repairs are undertaken elsewhere, unless agreed in advance.

8

Vehicle Storage

Customers should collect vehicles promptly after notification that repairs are complete.

Vehicles remaining more than 48 hours after notification may incur reasonable storage charges unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.

9

Road Testing

Customers authorise Piston Pros to road test the vehicle, perform quality assurance testing, verify repairs and diagnose faults. Reasonable additional mileage may therefore be recorded.

10

Payment

Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due upon completion and cleared funds are required before vehicle release. Title to replacement parts remains with Piston Pros until payment has been received in full.

Accepted payment methods: Debit Card, Bank Transfer, Cash.

11

Retention of Vehicle

Piston Pros reserves the legal right to retain possession of a vehicle until all outstanding invoices relating to that vehicle have been paid in full, where permitted by law.

12

Collection & Abandoned Vehicles

Where vehicles remain uncollected and customers fail to respond to repeated communication, Piston Pros reserves the right to recover storage costs and, where legally permitted, dispose of the vehicle in accordance with applicable legislation after providing appropriate notice.

13

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for informing Piston Pros of previous repairs, known faults, engine modifications, ECU remaps, immobilisers, security devices, warning lights, fluid leaks, overheating history and accident damage.

Failure to disclose relevant information may affect diagnosis, repair times and warranty.

14

Limitation of Liability

Nothing within these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to applicable law, Piston Pros shall not be liable for consequential or indirect losses, loss of earnings, loss of business, vehicle hire costs (unless expressly agreed), delays caused by manufacturers, suppliers or events outside our reasonable control, or failures unrelated to the authorised repairs.

15

Data Protection

Personal information is processed in accordance with UK data protection legislation and is used only for repair administration, customer communication, invoicing, warranty administration and legal and regulatory obligations.

Customer information will not be sold to third parties.

16

Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with our service, please contact us promptly. We are committed to resolving complaints fairly, professionally and without unnecessary delay.

17

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Piston Pros is committed to carrying out all repairs with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
